Webb
(Caliente)
Webb, also shown as Caliente on some maps, was an early stage stop located by Robert M. Tyler and a station on the El Paso & Southwestern Railroad's Courtland Branch. The name Webb was chosen after Tyler applied for a post office and authorities refused to let him use his last name, so he used the last name of his father-in-law, J.D. Webb. In 1910 or 1911, the Black Diamond School District was renamed the Webb School District, and presumably around this time the schoolhouse was built. The EP&SW branch was abandoned in 1932, and the Webb post office closed in 1938.
