Redman

Little is known about the community of Redman, at the far north end of Los Angeles County. In 1911, the Redman School District was established and a school was built. In 1946, the Redman School (along with three others located in the area) were consolidated to form the Eastside Union School District and presumably this is when the school closed. It was later used as Joshua Tree Grange 664, but burned in the mid-1970s. After the fire, rather than rebuild, the Grange merged with another nearby chapter and the property sold. Today, the ruins of the school are a popular spot for photography.
